The Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Angels meet Wednesday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a LA Angels vs Colorado Rockies Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Kyle Freeland will get the start for Colorado here and is 2-4 with a 6.23 ERA and 42 strikeouts this season. In his career, Freeland is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA and 13 strikeouts against the Angels. The Los Angeles Angels did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted.

Colorado Rockies Recap

The Colorado Rockies will try to bounce back after starting the series with a 10-7 loss at the hands of the Angels in Tuesday’s series opener. The loss pushed Colorado’s losing skid to 5 and put the Rockies at risk of yet another series loss after being swept by the Giants in a four-Game series this past weekend.

Rockies Looking To Play Spoiler Whenever Possible

Entering Tuesday, Ezequiel Tovar leads the Rockies with 125 hits including a team-high 31 doubles, 17 home runs and 50 RBIs with 129 strikeouts as well this season while Ryan McMahon has 15 home runs and 47 RBIs along with 21 doubles and 123 strikeouts as well. Brenton Doyle’s added 18 doubles, 17 home runs, 53 RBIs and a team-high 21 stolen bases as well and Tovar has a team-best .287 batting average this season. Michael Toglia’s also chipped in 18 home runs as well this season.

Why the Colorado Rockies will win

  • The Angels have lost four of their last five night games against National League opponents following a win.
  • The road team has won seven of the Angels’ last nine games.
  • The Angels have failed to cover the run line in five of their last six games against National League opponents after playing the previous day.
  • The road team has covered the run line in seven of the Angels’ last nine games.

Los Angeles Angels Recap

The Los Angeles Angels will try to build some steam after earning the win in Tuesday’s opener, putting the Halos in rare air of potentially nabbing the series win after falling short against the Oakland A’s this past weekend. The Angels will take on the Mets after this series.

Angels Trying To Keep Out Of AL West Cellar

Going into Tuesday’s opener, Taylor Ward has 86 hits along with 18 doubles, 16 home runs and 51 RBIs. Mike Trout also has 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 6 stolen bases, but remains out indefinitely with injury while Zach Neto has 23 doubles, 85 strikeouts and 19 stolen bases. Luis Rengifo also has 82 hits and 23 stolen bases while Jo Adell has 15 home runs, 46 RBIs and 13 stolen bases as well. Logan O’Hoppe has 89 hits and Neto has a team-high 90 hits as well with O’Hoppe adding 14 homers and 43 RBIs.

Why the Los Angeles Angels will win

  • The Rockies have lost 13 of their last 14 road games against AL West opponents.
  • The home team has won each of the Rockies’ last six games.
  • The Angels have covered the run line in each of their last six home games against NL West opponents.
  • The Rockies have failed to cover the run line in six of their last seven road games against American League opponents.

LA Angels vs Colorado Rockies Prediction

I’m on the Angels here. I think we’re just at a point where we can’t back the Rockies on the road regardless of who is pitching. Now sure, the Angels aren’t a world beater at all, but they’re hitting .286 against lefties in their last ten Games and have the 6th-best bullpen ERA since the all-star break. Colorado’s bullpen is top-ten as well, but the Rockies’ pen has been one of the worst in baseball this entire season and I don’t trust them to hold it down here. Give me the Angels.
