Enrique “Kiké” Hernandez didn’t hold back his thoughts about Fat Joe’s performance at the World Series during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ victory parade.

“Give it up for Ice Cube! Ice Cube came out in Game 2 and with his performance we didn’t need to play that Game … we already won it,” Hernandez, 33, addressed the crowd of fans on Friday, November 1 during the team’s celebratory procession after winning this year’s World Series. “Then we go to New York and this guy, he used to be fat, he’s not fat anymore, his name is Joe.”

The baseball player was referring to the moment when Fat Joe — who is a diehard New York Yankees fan — took the stage on Monday, October 28 to perform his song “All the Way Up” ahead of Game 3 in New York City. (During the Dodgers’ home games over the weekend, Ice Cube, 55, performed for the crowd.)

“He came out and sang,” Hernandez said of Fat Joe’s appearance in New York City. “And guess what? We didn’t even need to play because after that performance we had already won. We wanted a parade and look at you guys, we got a parade.”

The Dodgers ultimately defeated the Yankees, 4 to 2, in Game 3, securing a favorable position to win the series. The Dodgers clinched the World Series title on Wednesday, October 30, after a come-from-behind victory in Game 5.

After throwing shade at Fat Joe’s way, Hernandez expressed his appreciation to the team’s fans for their support throughout the season.

“Love you L.A. I love you everybody,” he said, before mentioning Dodgers manager Dave Roberts’ reference to Kendrick Lamar’s hit song “Not Like Us.”

“And like Dave said, ‘They not like us, baby!’” Hernandez added.

While Fat Joe, 54, didn’t get to see the Yankees pull out a win, he was thankful for the opportunity to be at the Bronx stadium.

“Wish we got the W but tonight was a dream come true for me @yankees,” he wrote via Instagram alongside a slideshow of moments from the Game.

Hernandez isn’t the only Dodgers player to diss Fat Joe following the team’s win. Pitcher Joe Kelly credited the rapper as part of the team’s success to clinch that final victory.

“When we were down 5-0, and they put Fat Joe up on the board, and I was like, ‘Oh, it’s an easy dub now,'” Kelly said after the game, per “Audacy Sports” podcast host Rob Bradford. “You know Fat Joe is the curse. They started kicking the ball around and playing Yankee defense.”

During the Game, several Yankees players made a series of errors which the Dodgers took advantage of. They ended up coming back after being down five runs to win the Game — and the pennant — in a 7-6 victory.
