The Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals meet Wednesday in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium. Here’s a Kansas City Royals vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction. This will be the third installment in a four-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.
Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview
The Blue Jays played the San Diego Padres in their weekend series. Toronto did pretty well in that one, winning 5-1 and 5-2 before taking a 6-3 loss in the finale. In Monday’s matchup versus the Royals, Toronto bagged a 5-3 win. In Game two the Blue Jays took a tough 3-2 loss. Starting pitcher Kevin Gausman put up 6.2 clean innings with seven hits, one walk and two Ks.
In the starting pitcher role for the Wednesday matchup, the Blue Jays are going with Yariel Rodriguez. Over his two starts this year so far (the first two of his career), Rodriguez has a 2.35 ERA without a decision and 13 Ks in 7.2 innings.
Kansas City Royals Betting Preview
Over on the Royals’ side, they took on the Baltimore Orioles in their weekend set. Kansas City won 9-4 in the opener of that series, then lost the two weekend Games 9-7 and 5-0. After their loss on Monday, in the Tuesday matchup the Royals scored all three of their runs in the fifth inning. Bobby Witt posted three hits and two RBI in the victory.
It’ll be Alec Marsh in the starting pitcher role for the Royals in the Wednesday Game three. This year so far Marsh is a nice 3-0 with a 3.22 ERA in four starts. He’s got 16 Ks in 22.1 innings. Marsh is 6-9 with a 5.12 ERA in 21 career Games (12 starts).
Blue Jays vs Royals Injury Notes
The Blue Jays’ Alek Manoah will be making his next rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on either Wednesday or Thursday. SP Ricky Tiedemann (day-to-day) is meeting with doctors this week on his elbow issue.
The Royals’ Jordan Lyles (RP) is out of action for an extended period of time due to a personal issue.
Kansas City Royals vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction
I’m going to lean toward the Blue Jays. You could probably make a case either way, though. Rodriguez has looked pretty good in his first two outings so far, notching just two earned in 7.2 total innings. Rodriguez hasn’t gone more than 4.0 innings yet, though. As for Marsh, he had a sketchy outing versus the Mets on April 13 (5.0 innings; four earned in a win) but still got the win. Marsh notched a clean 5.2 frames in a victory over the O’s in his last start.
On Tuesday Toronto couldn’t get much going offensively despite nine team hits. The pitching staff was solid overall as well. It was just a tough-luck loss with one bad inning. The Jays should rebound and play well Wednesday.
