Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are finally able to go public with their love, but they’re not rushing a walk down the aisle. Following The Golden Bachelorette finale on Wednesday, November 13, the couple opened up about wedding plans.

“I’m finally looking forward to the next chapter of my life. I had lost that for quite a while,” Joan, 61, told Good Morning America. “So I think [we’re] just living a little bit of a normal life for a bit. And then I think we’ll start doing wedding planning.”

Chock, 61, seemed more eager to tie the knot. “She’s gonna marry me. She is. It’s just a matter of time.” Joan confirmed his sentiment, adding, “I am!”

The Kansas native proposed to Joan in July when they filmed The Golden Bachelorette finale in Tahiti. However, the pair had to keep their engagement a secret for nearly four months before the episode aired.

“We got to spend a lot of time together, just falling more and more in love,” Joan gushed. “And now we get to share it with our friends and family and the rest of the world.” Chock previously said on After the Final Rose that he and his future wife had five “happy couples” weekends together between when the finale was filmed and when it aired.

Now that they’re out in the open as a couple, Joan and Chock are headed to Disney World to celebrate with their families. “Our family is kind of like us,” Joan shared. “They immediately had a rapport. It’s almost weird because this was so meant to be.”

With Joan hailing from Maryland and Chock living in Kansas, the couple is planning on splitting their time between both places in the coming months. “I always said I’m not gonna leave Maryland, but I’m really excited to spend some time in Kansas,” Joan admitted. “I never thought I’d utter those words.”

Plus, they have plans to eventually get a place together in New York City. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed – and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true – that we live in a big city,” Joan told Us Weekly. “And, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York City. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want to go find a place.’”

They plan to start apartment hunting soon. “We both love the energy in the city and love that there’s always something to do,” Joan explained. “We just want to go out and walk and experience life – go to fun restaurants and [experience the] culture. We both have friends there. We’re going to be there during the holidays, which is the best time ever in New York City. I think it’s just a really different life than either one of us have ever lived.”

Before taking on that adventure, though, they’re throwing a big engagement party in Los Angeles. “It’s going to be bigger than most weddings,” Chock admitted. “We’ve got friends coming in from around the country. It’s kind of our coming-out party as a couple. We’re extremely excited about that.”
