Jimmy Butler Wants To Leave Heat For 1 NBA Contender

Jimmy Butler’s time with the Miami Heat appears to be coming to an end.

All summer long rumblings have been growing increasingly louder about both sides’ disenchantment with the other.

It has gotten to the point where even team insiders are confirming that a breakup is imminent.

The biggest question doesn’t seem to be if Butler is on his way out – but rather where he is going.

This week Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported that Butler “likes” the Brooklyn Nets.

Lewis’ report comes on the heels of another unexpected title contender expressing some interest in adding Butler.

It is worth remembering, Butler has been available to ink a two-year extension worth up to $113 million with Miami since July. Neither side has done so, though.

Where there is this much smoke, there is usually a fire.

Butler and the Heat have obviously had a very fruitful relationship for both sides, but it appears to be coming to an abrupt end.

Butler will play for Miami in some capacity in 2024, but it really wouldn’t be all that shocking to see the front office try to trade him. It is either that or watch him leave for nothing.

Where will Butler ultimately end up when everything is said and done? Time will tell.
