Jaylen Brown’s Snaky Behavior Shows Why NBA Players Don’t Like Him

Jaylen Brown has had a tremendous year on the basketball court. Shortly after signing an extremely lucrative 5-year, $286 million contract he led the Boston Celtics to their first championship since 2008.

Not only did Brown play a crucial role in Boston winning their most recent chip, but he was arguably the biggest reason why it happened. While Jayson Tatum was functionally useless in the Eastern Conference Finals and NBA Finals, Brown played at an MVP level.

Unfortunately for him, though — none of that changes the fact that nobody likes Brown.

You will recall, two months ago ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith went viral when he revealed that nobody in the NBA actually likes Brown.

“It’s not so much that he’s underrated, it’s that he’s just not liked because of his, ‘I am better than you,’ attitude,” Smith said.

“He knows it. It’s the same reason he is not as marketable as he should be. That’s what an NBA source just sent me.”

Brown’s response to Smith’s comments was predictable.

The issue subsequently died down, but then resurfaced recently.

Last week, after Kawhi Leonard decided to opt out of Team USA Basketball for this summer, Brown’s teammate Derrick White was chosen as his replacement.

Rather than be happy for his guy, Brown sent out this salty tweet:

Hilariously, when Tatum was asked about Brown, he offered an uncomfortable response. Clearly Brown’s own teaMMAtes don’t even like him:

“Yeah, I mean, there are so many guys who could take that last spot or whatever. So, yeah, it is,” Tatum said of Brown getting snubbed.

Brown then fired back at Tatum by calling Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves Team USA’s number one option.

Again, this is Brown’s dynamic with his own teammate.

But Brown’s snaky behavior isn’t limited to that. In an effort to impress his new girl, Kysre Gondrezick, Brown mocked Bronny James to her at a recent Summer League Game:

“I don’t think Bronny is a pro,” he said.

That opinion is fine in itself. Bronny is terrible. His list of lowlights speaks for itself, as does the fact that LeBron is already in damage control mode for his son’s ineptitude on the basketball court.

It’s also fine that Brown was trying to impress his girl. Her provocative photos speak for themselves.

But what makes Brown’s comments egregious is that he backpedaled immediately after getting busted gossiping like a schoolgirl.

Brown has always been a weird dude. There is a reason people don’t like him.

Including the guys on his own team.

Smith was right. Maybe instead of getting mad at him for it, Brown should have looked inward to figure out why he is the way he is.
