Since he was released earlier this month by the Baltimore Ravens, the prolific pass-catcher has been on the hunt for a new team and now it seems he may found one in the form of the Miami Dolphins. With one of the most potent offenses in the league, the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. can only be a good thing. That is, assuming he can stay healthy.

OBJ could be heading to the Dolphins

According to reports, Odell Beckham Jr is set for a visit with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday. The news follows a prior report which indicated that the franchise had expressed interest in acquiring the 31-year-old who would form a formidable trio with current pass catchers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Where numbers are concerned, Beckham posted 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns during the 2023 campaign with the Baltimore Ravens. This, of course, was after missing the entirety of the 2022-23 season following an ACL tear during Super Bowl LVI, a Game in which he scored a touchdown for the eventual winners, the Los Angeles Rams.

It’s worth noting that Beckham actually hinted at retirement before his single season in Baltimore. As we know, that didn’t happen and with the purported visit in Miami, we can assume his passion for the game is as strong as ever. Should he manage to secure a spot on the Dolphins roster and in turn get back to full fitness, we can probably expect big things. Beckham, as you may recall was selected by the New York Giants with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and then went on to spend five seasons in the Big Apple. During that time he registered 390 receptions for 5476 yards and 44 touchdowns i.e., he was more than impressive.

Following his time with the Giants, he moved to the Cleveland Browns in 2019, but an ACL tear brought an end to his efforts halfway through 2020′s campaign. With that, the Browns took the decision to release him in 2021 and what followed was somewhat of a feud, with his father openly criticizing the franchise on social media. Yet, as the title of Shakespeare’s famous play notes: All is well that ends well. In 2023, Beckham joined Rams an caught 27 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns across eight regular season Games, and he got himself a Super Bowl ring. This is all to say that, the prospect of OBJ joining last season’s No. 1 offense in yards per Game is a scary one. Now, it’s just a question of whether the Dolphins are willing to fork out the cash.
