Gentleman, the latest drama sensation, marks the grand return of Humayun Saeed to television after a four-year hiatus. Humayun steps into the shoes of Iqbal Munna, a local Korangi goon with a surprising streak of innocence. His character has drawn inevitable comparisons to the beloved Munna Bhai from the 2003 Bollywood hit Munna Bhai MBBS, played by none other than Sanjay Dutt.

In a recent interview with his co-star Yumna Zaidi, Humayun shared that his character was indeed inspired by Munna Bhai. “It wasn’t necessary for the character to be this way, but that’s the way Khalilur Rehman wrote it. The way he wrote it was that this character is inspired by the character of Munna Bhai.” To keep things Mysterious, Yumna chimed in with, “It could be,” hinting at possible twists without giving too much away.

The Bin Roye actor also addressed the theories about Ahmad Ali Butt’s character, Dilbar, Munna’s loyal sidekick, resembling Circuit from Munna Bhai MBBS. He teased, “The fifth episode is coming soon; you’ll find the answer to this question in that. You’ll have to watch the fifth episode.”

Yumna reassured fans that all would become clearer as the story unfolds. “I think this will become clearer after the next episode. Also, as the drama progresses, I think people will forget this comparison and these similarities. We’ve forgotten it ourselves.”

Facing criticism for its unrealistic portrayal of "gundagardi" in Korangi, Humayun defended the show by saying, “There aren’t any dons in Korangi like the way we’ve portrayed them. This is a fantasy, and in this fantasy world, we’ve tried to show as much reality as we can. We even considered setting it in a fictional town, not Korangi. But we chose Korangi and even if we did, there’s no harm done.”
