As he and his team prepare to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, we take a look at the contract details of the San Francisco 49ers place kicker, Jake Moody, and how it all breaks down.

Who is Jake Moody?

As a two-time All American with the Michigan Wolverines, it seemed a pretty certain thing that Jake Moody would find himself in the ranks of NFL place kickers.

Coming out of high school in Michigan, Moody walked on as a freshman in Ann Arbor, securing himself a scholarship that spring. That season, Moody set a Michigan single-game record by knocking through six field goals in the Wolverines’ 31–20 victory over Indiana.

With a strong leg, Moody has reportedly hit from 69-yards during practice, with his longest in a game set at 59 yards, set during his senior season at Michigan.

The 49ers took Moody in the third round of last year’s NFL draft, making him only the second place kicker ever to be taken in the top 100 draft picks.

The details of Jake Moody’s contract

Agreeing terms with San Francisco, the rookie kicker signed a four-year deal worth $5,454,080 and includes a signing bonus of $857,512. Moody’s average annual salary is $1,363,520, which is a ton of money for a rookie and sees him shoot to the top twenty highest paid in the NFL.
