During the exhibition game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Baker Mayfield was named Offensive MVP for his excellent performance. Mayfield’s playing time was managed strategically, with Eli Manning revealing before the game that Mayfield would come in during the fourth quarter, serving as the closer for the game. This decision proved effective, as Mayfield’s impactful presence helped the NFC secure the win.

Mayfield demonstrated his prowess in three drives, with the first resulting in a touchdown pass to his former Oklahoma teammate, CeeDee Lamb. The extra point was completed by Amon-Ra St. Brown, confirming the NFC’s lead.

The second drive featured a series of plays covering 45 yards from the five-yard line. Mayfield orchestrated a spectacular catch-and-run to Sam LePort, followed by a precise completion to Puka Nkua, bringing the NFC to the one-yard line. A touchdown pass to Jir Gibbs, another Lion’s connection, sealed Mayfield’s second touchdown contribution.

Despite an unfortunate interception during the third drive, Mayfield’s comPetitive spirit and determination were evident. The interception did little to overshadow Mayfield’s overall standout performance. Mayfield’s intensity extended beyond the Gameplay, notably in a flagged play where he was penalized for flag guarding.

During the Pro Bowl events, the Buccaneers’ presence was not limited to Mayfield alone. Tristan Wirfs displayed strength and skill, dominating the Move the Chains comPetition and contributing significantly to the obstacle course. Wirfs portrayed the Buccaneers’ tenacity and prowess on the field.

How much did they get paid for their impressive performance?

It is important to note that the MVP award does not come with any special financial reward. However, players who participate in the Pro Bowl receive a payment of $42,000, an increase of $2,000 from the previous year.

Playing in the Pro Bowl and receiving a paycheck of $42,000 is more than what players get if they play for a non-Division Champion during the Wild Card Weekend ($41,500). Only a slight difference exists between what players on the Division-winning teams receive ($46,500).

Winning the Pro Bowl event does offer a financial incentive. The victorious player’s paycheck doubles to $84,000, an increase of $4,000 from last year. This is more money than what players get for participating in the Conference Championship Games and more than what players on the losing side of the Super Bowl will receive.
