The Atlanta Falcons made a big splash in the NFL free-agency market when they agreed to terms with QB Kirk Cousins to be the quarterback for the 2024-25 season. The Falcons and Cousins agreed to terms on a 4-year, $180 million deal with $100 million of guaranteed money. The deal ends a 6-year tenure for the quarterback with the Minnesota Vikings. He will be 36 years old this summer, and the signal caller is coming off a torn Achilles’ tendon suffered in a game Oct. 29 at Lambeau Field. All indications are that Cousins will be ready when the new season begins.
With the deal, coach Raheem Morris gets a veteran signal caller, rather than the hodgepodge that was a combination of QBs Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke in a 7-10 campaign last season which saw the Falcons miss the playoffs by 2 games.

The Falcons moved up the board significantly, in terms of representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. The odds to win the NFC now sit at +1400, which is tied for 6th in the conference along with the Los Angeles Rams.
The Falcons are favored to win the NFC South at -110. They’re the only team in the division not at plus-money. The defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+300) are a distant 2nd, with the New Orleans Saints (+340) 3rd and the Carolina Panthers (+1000) listed 4th.
