Christian Horner, the first man of Red Bull in Formula 1, recently revealed that his team had contact with Lewis Hamilton in the past and wanted to have him in their ranks.

Luis is an amazing driver. He was a seven-time world champion and will be in the caravan for many more years,” said Horner and added, “It is true that we have had several discussions with him in the past about the possibility of him joining Red Bull, but nothing was imminent.

In the last three years, Red Bull has dominated the circus on wheels. They have two-time world champion Max Verstappen in their ranks, who is well on his way to taking his third consecutive title. A great rivalry has developed between him and Hamilton, especially in 2021, and they will never be teammates.

If they wanted to have Hamilton and Verstappen in their ranks, we would have to sell the factory, considering the amounts of their contracts,” Horner said with a smile.
