Here’s how and where to watch the Perseid meteor shower peak in Australia
Stargazers are in for a stunning light display this weekend when the Perseid meteor shower peaks.
The shower began this year on July 14, and will continue until September 1, though not as many meteors will be visible after its peak on August 13 and 14.

Like most major meteor showers, the Perseids will be most visible to viewers in the Northern Hemisphere, just a few hours before dawn — but Australians can still catch a glimpse.
NASA considers the show “the best meteor shower of the year”.
“With swift and bright meteors, Perseids frequently leave long ‘wakes’ of light and colour behind them as they streak through Earth’s atmosphere,” it said.
