Gimme’ Shelter: Kogi at Providence Animal Control Center

Hello there. My birth name is Kogi; my street name is Simone (short for Simone Biles). I’m a young girl and my size is between small and medium, aka just right. I was going for gold at the Olympics but someone stupidly threw a tennis ball and I completely lost my mind. After celebrating catching my ball I realized I just flushed my Olympic champion dream down the toilet. Darn tennis balls get me every time.

Now I practice my skills sticking my landing on laps. Yes, laps! My other favorite activity is to snuggle on people’s laps. I love feeling secure and getting lots of love! Actually, I’d take a snuggly lap over an Olympic medal any day! Also, I came in with my sister, Petu. She’s awesome too! I’d love for us to go home as a pair but a home is the most important thing. The Providence Animal Control Division protects the Health and safety of our residents and their Pets with progressive leadership and Education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all Animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of Healthy adoptable Animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter Animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring Animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents.
