FC 25 gives Gianluigi Donnarumma outrageous pace rating

After months of speculation and countless online leaks, EA Sports has finally released the official ratings for FC 25.

The names at the top of the overall ratings were familiar ones, with four players tied for the No. 1 position. Kylan Mbappé, Rodri, Erling Haaland and Barcelona Femini star Aitana Bonmatí were each given a rating of 91 for the upcoming edition of the game.

In total, 11 players were given a rating of 90 or above, none of whom are named Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. They were given overall ratings of 88 and 86, respectively.

More surprising, however, were some of the names at the top of the ‘pace’ charts. EA Sports list the fastest players on the Game on their website, with Mbappé once again coming out on top. Behind him are Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior and female players Sophia Smith and Kaddiatou.

In fifth place, bizarrely, is Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi DonnaruMMA. The 6ft 5in, 198lb goalkeeper is fairly quick off his line, but many were surprised to see DonnaruMMA ranked as the third-fastest male player on FC 25, with a pace score of 90.

When does FC 25 go on sale?

The upcoming game is the second instalment of EA Sport’s ‘FC’ series, formerly a part of the ‘FIFA’ soccer simulation games. After 30 years under its previous guise EA opted to split from world soccer’s governing body in 2022 and the first iteration of the FC game was released on September 29, 2023.

The game is still developed by EA Sports but the developer now has to secure licensing rights for players, teams and stadiums without the help of FIFA. Nevertheless last year’s edition of the game was well-received and expectations are high for this year’s version.

EA Sports’ FC 25 will be released worldwide on September 27, 2024. Eagers fans can also take advantage of an early access offer, allowing those who pre-order the ultimate edition of the Game to start playing from September 20.

The standard edition of FC 25 will be available to purchase in the United States for $69.99 on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. The ultimate edition will cost $30 more, but includes early access, 4,600 FC points and an untradeable ultimate team hero player item.
