Kansas City Royals vs. Minnesota Twins
August 13, 2024 7:40 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents a matchup between the Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a FanDuel perspective.

Prior to discussing the Kansas City Royals vs. New York Mets game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 2x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will be one star and three flex plays. The star player will receive 1.5x the standard fantasy points value. The final three flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single Game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single Game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single Game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.

Here are my FanDuel picks for this evening’s Kansas City Royals vs. Minnesota Twins matchup.

MVP-Bobby Witt Jr., Shortstop, Kansas City Royals $10,000

On Tuesday night, Major League Baseball presents the second game of a three game American League series between the Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins.

How are these two American League teams playing entering tonight’s game? The Kansas City Royals arrive at this evening’s contest playing quality baseball. Let’s review the Royals recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement. The Kansas City Royals have won eight of the team’s last 13 games played in the 2024 MLB regular season, including an 8-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals four days ago.

In direct contrast to the Kansas City Royals, the Minnesota Twins arrive at the second game of this three-game American League series playing below average baseball. More specifically, the Twins have lost four of the last seven games the team has played this season, including a 7-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs last week.

It should be noted that the Minnesota Twins defeated the Kansas City Royals 8-3 in last night’s opening game of this three game American League series.

Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s shift our attention to tonight’s Game. Talented Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has quickly ascended to be one of the best hitters in the American League in 2024. Having stated that, how has Witt Jr. been playing recently?

In his last four games played for the Kansas City Royals this season, Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. accumulated six hits (three home runs), eight runs batted in, five runs scored, and two walks in only 15 plate appearances. I expect Bobby Witt Jr. to continue his quality play on the baseball diamond in tonight’s matchup with the Minnesota Twins later today.

Star-Matt Wallner, Outfielder, Minnesota Twins $7,000

Minnesota outfielder Matt Wallner has certainly been a stabilizing presence in the Minnesota Twins lineup this season. In his last seven Games played for the Twins, Minnesota outfielder Matt Wallner has accumulated eight hits (one home run), six runs batted in, four runs scored, and three walks in 20 plate appearances.

Flex plays I like to play well this evening (FanDuel price noted): Freddy Fermin, Catcher (Kansas City Royals) $4,500: Trevor Larnach, Outfielder (Minnesota Twins) $6,000.
