Similar to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the New York Yankees have been playing quality baseball recently. The Yankees have won seven of the team’s last nine games played this season, including a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians three days ago.

Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this week’s Game 1 of the 2024 World Series.

New York outfielder Giancarlo Stanton has certainly been a key contributor to the Yankees offense this season. Let’s review Stanton’s game data from the 2024 MLB season to better shed light on my previous statement.

More specifically, in his last seven Games played for the Yankees this season, Stanton has compiled nine hits (four home runs), six RBIs (runs batted in), five runs scored, one stolen base, and four walks in 30 plate appearances.

As I noted in the rules section above, selecting the correct MVP is absolutely vital if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest. In summary, I am rolling with New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Star-Juan Soto, Outfielder, New York Yankees $9,000

In the last six games that outfielder Juan Soto has played for the New York Yankees this season, Juan Soto accumulated eight hits (three home runs), five runs scored, seven RBIs (runs batted in) and four walks in 27 plate appearances. It has to be said, those are the type of DFS numbers I need to see from a player that I select at the star position for a FanDuel MLB single game contest.
