In direct contrast to the Cleveland Guardians, the New York Yankees have been playing good baseball recently. The Yankees have won four of the team’s last five games played this season, including a 3-2 win over the Kansas City Royals last week.

It should be noted that the New York Yankees won last night’s opening game of the 2024 American League Championship series defeating the Cleveland Guardians 5-4.

Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to tonight’s American League Championship series game.

In my opinion, talented New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto is one of the best hitters in the American League. Let’s review Soto’s recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement.

In his last nine games played for the New York Yankees this season, Yankees outfielder Juan Soto has accumulated 11 hits (two home runs), six runs scored, seven RBIs (runs batted in) and eight walks in 44 plate appearances. It has to be said, those are the type of DFS numbers I need to see from a player that I select at the MVP position for a FanDuel MLB single game contest.

For the reasons just noted, I am backing New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto at the MVP position for this one Game FanDuel DFS slate.
