New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole has quickly established himself as one of the best starting pitchers in the American League. Having stated that, how has the Yankees hurler been playing from a statistical standpoint in 2024? Let’s review Cole’s game data from this season to answer that question.

In the 17 games that Gerrit Cole pitched for the New York Yankees in the 2024 MLB regular season, Cole has posted a 3.41 ERA (Earned Run Average), 1.13 WHIP (walks, hits, inning pitched) and added 99 strikeouts while allowing 29 walks.

More recently, in the New York Yankees 3-1 win over the Kansas City Royals 12 days ago, New York starting pitcher Gerrit Cole pitched exceptionally well. More specifically, Cole pitched seven quality innings striking out four Kansas City batters while scattering six hits and zero walks in the Yankees victory over the Royals. It has to be said, those are the type of DFS numbers I need to see from a player that I select for the captain position.
