This Sunday, Draftkings Golf fans will be presented with the final round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Let’s take a look at the final round of this event from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections, let’s review where the final round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship will be played.

The final round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship will be played at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. The Golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,243 yards.

Scottie Scheffler $12,700

Since the beginning of March, Scottie Scheffler has played 11 tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those 11 events just mentioned, Scheffler has accumulated ten top ten finishes, including an unbelievable sx wins (2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational: 2024 Players Championship: 2024 Masters Tournament: 2024 RBC Heritage: 2024 Memorial Tournament: 2024 Travelers Championship).

In addition to his outstanding play on the PGA Tour, Scottie Scheffler secured a gold medal for the USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Golf event two weeks ago. I think it is fair to say that Scheffler is arriving at this week’s first FedEx Cup playoff event in good form.

Scheffler also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Scottie Scheffler ranks first in GIR (greens in regulation), first in strokes gained tee to green, first in strokes gained approach, first in strokes gained off the tee, first in bogey avoidance, and first in birdie or better percentage.

There is no doubt in my mind that Scottie Scheffler is the best golfer in this tournament field. For that specific reason, I am backing Scottie Scheffler as my lead Draftkings pick for this PGA Tour final round showdown slate.

Hideki Matsuyama $10,000

Hideki Matsuyama has accumulated three top 23 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive sixth place result at the 2024 U.S. Open in June.

Sam Burns $8,700

Sam Burns has accumulated four top 15 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at the 2024 3M Open three weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Sam Burns ranks first in birdie or better percentage, 16th in strokes gained around the green, 15th in strokes gained on par fives, and second in total Draftkings points scored.

It should be mentioned that Sam Burns has posted a quality result at TPC Southwest in the past. More specifically, Burns finished second at the 2021 FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Upon the completion of this afternoon’s third round at the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship, Sam Burns is currently in a tie for fourth place with a cumulative three round score of ten under par.
