Seattle Storm vs. Chicago Sky
May 28, 2024 8:00 pm EDT

The WNBA presents a matchup between the Seattle Storm and Chicago Sky. Let’s take a look at this game from a Draftkings perspective.

Before we dive into the Seattle Storm vs. Chicago Sky game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate

Here are my Draftkings picks for tomorrow’s Seattle Storm vs. Chicago Sky matchup.

Draftkings Picks

Captain-Ezi Magbegor $9,400

How important has Seattle forward Ezi Magbegor been to the Seattle Storm offense this season? Let’s take a look at Magbegor’s recent game statistics to answer that question.

In the Seattle Storm’s first six Games played in the 2024 WNBA regular season, Magbegor has averaged an impressive 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2 blocks a Game.

Looking at the data just presented more closely I observed that in the Seattle Storm’s last six Games played this season, Ezi Magbegor has averaged 32.1 Draftkings points a Game.

More recently, in the Seattle Storm’s 101-69 win over the Washington Mystics two days ago, Seattle forward Ezi Magbegor accumulated 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks in the Storm’s defeat of the Mystics.

I certainly like Ezi Magbegor’s matchup tonight? Why? Magbegor draws a Chicago Sky defense that is currently ranked eighth in overall team defensive rating (99.7) and 12th in total points allowed a Game in the paint (40.1) in the WNBA. Keep in mind that the WNBA has 12 teams in the entire league. Clearly, being ranked eighth and 12th in any team defensive category is not a good thing.

If you have aspirations of winning a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) Draftkings contest selecting the correct captain is of the highest importance. Having stated that, I think that Seattle Storm forward Ezi Magbegor is a great play at captain for this one game DFS slate.

Flex Plays

Nneka Ogwumike $10,400

Talented Seattle Storm forward Nneka Ogwumike has been the driving force in the paint that the Seattle Storm have needed to win games in 2024.

In the four games that Nneka Ogwumike has played for the Seattle Storm in the 2024 regular season, Ogwumike averaged 21.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.3 steals a game.

In summary, I love Nneka Ogwumike’s chances of performing at a high level versus this Seattle Storm team.

Angel Reese $8,000

Chicago Sky rookie forward Angel Reese has wasted little time showing the world that she belongs in the WNBA. Having stated that, how is Reese playing from a statistical standpoint?

In the Chicago Sky’s four Games played this season, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is averaging 12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1 steal a Game.

I fully expect Chicago’s Angel Reese to continue her outstanding play versus the Seattle Storm tomorrow night.

Additional players I like (Draftkings price noted): Sami Whitcomb $5,400: Jewell Loyd $10,800: Dana Evans $6,600: Merecedes Russell $4,800: Jordan Horston $5,600.
