On Tuesday night, Major League Baseball presents the second game of a three game interleague series between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Texas Rangers arrive at the second game of this three game interleague series with the St. Louis Cardinals playing rather good baseball. Let’s review the Rangers recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement. The Texas Rangers have won six of the team’s last nine games played this season, including a including a 7-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays three days ago.

Conversely, the St. Louis Cardinals are not playing good baseball. The St. Louis Cardinals have lost six of the team’s last nine Games played in the 2024 MLB regular season, including an embarrassing 14-3 loss to the Washington Nationals three days ago.

It should also be noted that the Texas Rangers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 in last night’s second Game of this three Game interleague series.

Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this evening’s contest. Texas pitcher Max Scherzer has certainly established himself as the leader of the Texas Rangers starting pitching rotation in 2024. Having stated that, how has Scherzer been playing from a statistical standpoint this season? Let’s take a look at Max Scherzer’s recent Game data to answer that question.

In the seven games that Max Scherzer has pitched for the Texas Rangers in the 2024 MLB regular season, Scherzer has posted a respectable 3.57 ERA (Earned Run Average), 1.08 WHIP (walks, hits, inning pitched) and added 33 strikeouts while allowing only seven walks.
