Now that we have identified how Alouettes quarterback Cody Fajardo performed last season, let’s shift our focus to Fajardo’s play in 2024. In the seven games that Montreal Alouettes quarterback Cody Fajardo has played in the 2024 CFL regular season, Fajardo tallied 1,689 passing yards, ten passing touchdowns, 142 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown.

It is noteworthy that these two teams met earlier in the season. Who prevailed? How did Fajardo perform in the game? Let’s look at the relevant game data to answer that question. In the Montreal Alouettes 23-20 victory over the Edmonton Els earlier this year, talented Montreal Alouettes quarterback Cody Fajardo accumulated 269 passing yards, two touchdowns, and added 27 rushing yards.

I certainly like Cody Fajardo’s matchup in this CFL contest. Why? Montreal quarterback Cody Fajardo draws an Edmonton Elks defense that has had issues defending opposing offenses all season. Let me be more specific. Upon the completion of 11 Games played in the 2024 CFL regular season, the Edmonton Els are ranked a dreadful ninth in total yards allowed to opposing offenses a Game (393.7). Keep in mind that the CFL has nine teams in the entire league. Clearly, the data just presented tells us that the Edmonton Elks are currently not a good defensive team.

For the reasons just noted, I am backing Montreal Alouettes signal caller Cody Fajardo as a flex play for this one Game CFL Draftkings Showdown contest.

Walter Fletcher, Running Back, Montreal Alouettes $12,700

In addition to Cody Fajardo, running back Walter Fletcher has been a key contributor to the Montreal Alouettes offense in 2024. Let’s review Fletcher’s recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement.

In the ten games that running back Walter Fletcher has played for the Montreal Alouettes in the 2024 CFL regular season, Fletcher tallied 429 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, 43 receptions, 416 receiving yards, and two receiving yards.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the ten games that Walter Fletcher has played for the Montreal Alouettes this season, Fletcher has averaged a respectable 16.1 Draftkings points a contest.
