This week, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the 2024 3M Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a DFS perspective.

Before I dive into my DFS player selections for this tournament let’s review the Golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a Golfer’s success at this week’s 2024 3M Open.

Where will the 2024 3M Open be played?

The 2024 3M Open will be played at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. TPC Twin Cities is a par 71 that measures approximately 7,431 yards.

TPC Twin Cities has hosted the 3M Open since 2019.

Lee Hodges won the 2023 3M Open with a cumulative four round score of 24 under par.

Will the 3M Open have a traditional cut after two rounds?

The 2024 3M Open will have a field of 156 players to start the tournament on Thursday. Upon the completion of two rounds, a cut will occur. The top 65 Golfers (including ties) will make the cut.

3M Open Draftkings DFS Picks

Tony Finau $10,500

The talented American has accumulated three top eight finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive third place result at the 2024 U.S. Open last month.

Tony Finau certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s 2024 3M Open field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Tony Finau ranks first in GIR (greens in regulation), third in birdie or better percentage, first in bogey avoidance, first in total Draftkings points scored, and third in strokes gained tee to green.

Additionally, Tony Finau has posted exceptional results at TPC Twin Cities in the past. Finau won the 2022 3M Open.

Jhonattan Vegas $7,500

Jhonattan Vegas arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top 27 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 20th place result at the John Deere Classic three weeks ago.

Vegas finished second at the 2021 3M Open.

Hayden Springer $7,000

Hayden Springer has accumulated two top ten finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place finish at the 2024 John Deere Classic.

Due to Hayden Springer’s quality finish at the 2024 John Deere Classic I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the tournament to see how Springer fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of comPetitive play at the 2024 John Deere Classic, in relation to the field, Hayden Springer ranked 14th in driving distance (313.1 yards), fifth in strokes gained tee to green (2.109), fourth in strokes gained off the tee (1.147).

Hayden Springer fired a second round 59 at the 2024 John Deere Classic. It was only the 13th time in the History of the PGA Tour that a score of 59 or less has been posted by a Golfer in a single round.
