Dominik Szoboszlai has admitted his previous return to the Liverpool squad may have been rushed as he battled to return from a hamstring injury.

He sustained a hamstring injury in the New Year's Day fixture against Newcastle United but, after sitting on the sidelines, returned later that month to face both Norwich City and Chelsea.

Szoboszlai would quickly return to the sidelines, however, missing the entire month of February after aggravating the problem. He has, however, played in Liverpool's last three fixtures, including an hour of the 1-1 draw against Manchester City and the full 90 in Thursday's 6-1 drubbing of Sparta Prague.

After his latest outing, Szoboszlai confessed his initial return from injury may have come sooner than necessary.

"To be honest, I have been fitter before but I'm coming to the shape where I was," he said. "I just needed Games, Games, Games and with the Games everything will come.

"After my first injury maybe it was a quick comeback. We learned from it. Now I wasn't in a rush and just wanted to be healthy. Now I'm ready to go."

Before the Game, Szoboszlai reflected on the struggles of a lengthy injury absence.

"I am back and I don't feel any pain," he said. "Hopefully it stays like that for the future.

"It is the worst thing that can happen to you, actually, to be injured, to be not allowed to help the team even if you want to and you are watching from the television or from the stands.

"It's not easy to come back because we have to build up ourselves in games as well. It's not that you go from zero to 100.

"You have steps to get over it, and this is not the easiest one when you feel you are ready to play and you still only get 15 minutes to play or in the next Game 40 and the next Game 60, and then maybe you can get the 90.

"This is a build-up, which is hard to understand as a player, but we have to accept it because our body is the main thing we use in the Game, so we have to take care of it."
