The Kansas City Royals and the Los Angeles Dodgers will meet for their interleague series finale this Sunday from Kauffman Stadium. Kansas City stole Game two after jumping out to a first-inning lead, 6-4.

Dodgers Betting Preview

Los Angeles moved to 46-36 after losing to Kansas City. The Dodgers were surprisingly blitzed early, and after leaving runners stranded all night, they’ll look to respond in Game three. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .326 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.24 ERA, with a 1.27 WHIP. Freddie Freeman has produced a run in four straight Games, and he leads LAD in BA (.318) and hits (104), with 14 HR and 54 RBI. Mookie Betts went yard twice in the Game one win over KC, and he now leads the team in home runs (22) and RBI (56). J.D. Martinez has 19 homers, and he’s tied with Betts for the team-lead in RBI at 56.

Tony Gonsolin (4-2, 3.30 ERA, 46 Ks) will get the call for Los Angeles. The fifth-year righty had another tough start against Houston last weekend, giving up four runs in five innings en route to a Dodgers loss. Gonsolin has struggled in his last two outings, but he’s been pretty good this season, allowing no more than three runs in his first nine starts. This light matchup with Kansas City presents a perfect opportunity for Gonsolin to get back on track, and open July on a solid note.

Royals Betting Preview

Kansas City comes in at 22-58 after losing to Los Angeles. The Royals were spanked at home last night by the Guardians, and they’ll look to avenge that defeat Thursday. The Kansas City offense is scoring 3.35 runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .295 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 5.29 ERA, with a 1.47 WHIP. Bobby Witt Jr. has plated runs in both Games against LAD, and he leads KC in hits (82) and RBI (40).  Salvador Perez also produced a run in the Game two, and he’s tied with Witt for the team-lead in RBI (40), with a team-high 15 home runs. Maikel Garcia has five hits in the two contests with the Dodgers, and he leads the Royals in batting at .276.

Brady Singer (4-7, 5.88 ERA, 70 Ks) will take the mound for Kansas City. The fourth-year righty pitched well in division action against Cleveland last week, tossing six shutout innings for the first time this season. Singer needed an outing like that after dropping three straight starts, but he will face a stiff test here at home with the Dodgers looking to bounce back.

Los Angeles vs Kansas City Trends

Los Angeles is 43-39 against the spread this season, with a 46-31-5 O/U record. Kansas City is 29-54 ATS this year, with a 38-43-2 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Los Angeles played with their food after falling behind early last night, and I don’t think they take things lightly on Sunday. The Dodgers will send a much more disciplined arm to the mound in Tony Gonsolin for Game three, and it’s unlikely he gets blown up by the manageable KC lineup. Brady Singer could be a wild card, but I like trusting the star power in a bounce back spot. Back Los Angeles to win this interleague matchup.
