Diogo Dalot confirms status of Man Utd contract talks
Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has confirmed he is in talks with the club over a new contract.
The 23-year-old's current Old Trafford contract was due to expire in June, but United recently activated a 12-month extension clause to extend Dalot's stay - something the club also did with Marcus Rashford, Fred and Luke Shaw.
90min previously revealed that United hope to negotiate a new long-term contract with Dalot, with the Portuguese international a firm favourite of manager Erik ten Hag, and the player himself has now revealed that talks are underway to find an agreement that will 'benefit' both parties.
“We are in a position to say that we are negotiating [my contract] and how both parties will benefit, but it is no secret that I am happy to be here. I love this club, I love to play for this club so we will see how things go," Dalot told The United Stand YouTube channel.
"Progressively we are in a good direction as a team, for me this is the most important part and hopefully individually I can continue to help the team as I am doing."
On this edition of The Promised Land, Scott Saunders & Rob Blanchette discuss Erik ten Hag's plans for Jadon Sancho, Jack Butland joining Man Utd on loan & interest in Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus. Part of the 90min podcast network.

Dalot has ousted Aaron Wan-Bissaka as United's first-choice right-back and has put in a number of impressive performance this season. He has spoken positively about the influence of Ten Hag following his arrival as manager, claiming the Dutchman has given him the 'confidence' to believe in his own abilities.
The former AC Milan loanee also talk part in a Manchester United fans' press conference on Monday, where he took questions from supporters ahead of Tuesday's Carabao Cup quarter-final tie with Charlton Athletic, and reiterated that the club's ambitions under Ten Hag remain as lofty as ever.
"My aspirations will always be [that] being at Manchester United you need to have big ambition. You need to win everything, every competition that you are in, but we also know that our reality is that we have to be cautious," he said.
"We are making progress, we are in the right direction and [that is] the way that we have to approach, especially this season, because I think we have good positions to win something and, at the end, we want to be with the mindset of, 'this season, we did everything we could to win this season and playing finals and winning trophies'."
