The Seattle Mariners and the Detroit Tigers square off Tuesday in MLB action from Comerica Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Detroit Tigers vs Seattle Mariners Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Seattle Mariners did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted. The Detroit Tigers will start Tarik Skubal here and Skubal is 13-4 with a 2.57 ERA and 171 strikeouts this season. In his career, Skubal is 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 18 strikeouts against Seattle.

Seattle Mariners Recap

The Seattle Mariners come into this one looking to build on their sweep of the New York Mets thanks to a 12-1 win in Sunday’s series finale. The win was a nice bounce back for the Mariners, who had just lost a series to these same Tigers just a week ago.

Mariners Trying To Hold Down AL West

Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 101 hits including a .260 batting average and also has 9 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 26 home runs along with 76 RBIs and 134 strikeouts. Mitch Haniger also has 11 home runs and 42 RBIs while Rodriguez has 18 stolen bases and 117 strikeouts as well this season. Dylan Moore has 18 doubles with 21 stolen bases and Josh Rojas has 16 doubles also this season.

Why the Seattle Mariners will win

  • The Tigers have lost each of their last 10 home games against AL West opponents following a win.
  • The Mariners have won 15 of their last 16 games against the Tigers following a home win.
  • The Tigers have failed to cover the run line in each of their last 10 home games against AL West opponents following a win.
  • The Mariners have covered the run line in each of their last seven Tuesday road games against AL Central opponents.

Detroit Tigers Recap

The Detroit Tigers come into this one looking to bounce back after losing their weekend series with the San Francisco Giants despite a 5-4 loss in Sunday’s series finale. The loss meant the Tigers couldn’t build on their series win over Seattle last week.

Tigers Trying To Get Back To .500

Riley Greene has 98 hits including 17 home runs and 51 RBIs along with 21 doubles, 5 triples, a .264 batting average and a .357 OBP in addition to a team-high 109 strikeouts this season. Matt Vierling also has 99 hits as well as 5 triples and 20 doubles with 14 home runs and 46 RBIs while Wenceel Perez has 5 triples and a team-high 9 stolen bases. Colt Keith also has 11 home runs and 43 RBIs as well this year.

Why the Detroit Tigers will win

  • The home team has won each of the Mariners’ last four games.
  • The Mariners have lost three of their last four night games against American League opponents following a win.
  • The Tigers have covered the run line in seven of their last eight games against teams that held a winning record.
  • The Mariners have failed to cover the run line in seven of their last eight night games against American League opponents following a home win.

Detroit Tigers vs Seattle Mariners Prediction

I’m on the under here. I think this is just going to be a low-scoring battle, as Skubal’s been at his best at home this season and while Seattle had an offensive outburst against the Mets this past weekend, they’ve also been known for throwing out more than their fair share of clunkers offensively just when you think they’re turning the corner. On the other side, Detroit’s offense has been non-existent at times even when Skubal’s pitched and I think this could be another low-scoring battle. Give me the under.
