Astronomers have recorded a radio wave in the Milky Way galaxy for the first time, accompanied by an explosion of X-ray radiation.

The Science Alert portal received this notification from the astronomer. literature Srinivas Kulkarni at the California Institute of Technology.

The researchers suggested that the magnet SGR 1935 2154 was the source of radio waves. However, they differ in their magnetic field strengths, sometimes exceeding this parameter by thousands of times.

A signal has been recorded that can answer the question about the origin of fast radio bursts (FRBs).

This is a powerful radio signal from deep space – from galaxies, possibly millions of light-years away. When there are such explosions, the energy released can be 500 million times higher than that of the sun.

At the same time, such outbursts last less than 0.001 seconds and as a rule do not repeat again, so it is difficult for scientists to predict their occurrence to monitor and study in detail.

All previously detected explosions are from other galaxies.asadF
