The Chicago Sky and Dallas Wings meet Wednesday in WNBA action at the College Park Center. Here’s a Dallas Wings vs Chicago Sky Prediction.
Chicago Sky Betting Preview
The Chicago Sky are coming off an 18-win season and will begin the Teresa Weatherspoon era. The Sky have a new head coach and only three players from last season’s roster. Those players are Marina Mabrey, Dana Evans and Elizabeth Williams. Diamond DeShields is back after winning a title with the Sky a couple of years ago, and Isabelle Harrison returns from injury after missing all of last year. The Sky drafted Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese, and that could be exciting building blocks in the frontcourt and makes them watchable this season. However, in terms of comPeting, the Sky are clearly rebuilding given how many fresh faces from the players to the coaching staff.
Dallas Wings Betting Preview
The Dallas Wings made the semifinals last season and enter the second year under coach Latricia Trammell. The Dallas Wings should make the playoffs for a fifth straight season, but the true ceiling won’t be determined until Satou Sabally returns from a shoulder injury. The expected return is some point in August after the Olympics. In the meantime, Arike Ogunbowale will have to do a lot of heavy lifting. Rookie Jacy Sheldon could also see more playing time than expected right away due to Sabally being out. Jaelyn Brown also showed flashes in the preseason. The Dallas Wings are an above average team that has a chance to push for a deep playoff run when all of the pieces come together at some point.
Dallas Wings vs Chicago Sky Injury Report
The Wings will be without Satou Sabally and Jaelyn Brown is listed as day to day. The Sky will be without Isabelle Harrison due to a knee injury and Kamilla Cardoso due to a shoulder injury.
Dallas Wings vs Chicago Sky Prediction
The Dallas Wings may be missing some key players, but there’s still enough here to comPete and win Games, especially against lesser teams. The Chicago Sky have young, intriguing players, but there’s sure to be growing pains with a new coaching staff and so much roster turnover. It’s going to take the Sky time to figure everything out. Even without Sabally, Ogunbowale and others can keep the Sky afloat. Somewhat reasonable number at home. Give me the Sky to start the season off with a win and cover.
