As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to face NFC East rivals Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, they’ll do so without several key starters.

While quarterback Dak Prescott has only recently been added to the seemingly endless list of significant injuries to Dallas’ players after suffering from a hamstring injury last week, the Cowboys have been losing players all throughout the season.

Here’s where some of those key players stand now as we head into Week 10.

Cowboys injury update ahead of Week 10 vs Eagles

The Cowboys have been dealing with injuries since before the season began. It started with defensive end Sam Williams suffering a season-ending ACL injury before the regular season started and it has only grown more weary since.

The Cowboys will play the Eagles at 4:25 p.m. ET this Sunday, November 10 at AT&T Stadium. (Follow along with my live text coverage on AS USA!)

As they prepare for this important Game, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy gave one positive update and a few more grim ones. While he said that edge rusher Micah Parsons (high-ankle sprain) will be practicing this week at a limited capacity, wide receiver Brandin Cooks, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, and cornerback DaRon Bland will likely remain out.

CB DaRon Bland

Bland was dealing with a stress fracture in his foot, which he suffered during the last week of training camp and before the start of the regular season. He seemed set to come back in Week 6, but has had some setbacks and has yet to return to the field in 2024. He was activated from Injured Reserve, but McCarthy said that this week, Bland will not practice, but will instead continue working with the Cowboys’ rehab director.

Bland is a huge loss for Dallas. Last season, he set a record with five pick-sixes, the most in a single season in NFL history, plus had nine interceptions on the season. This season, the Cowboys defense is one of the worst in the league (27/32) with just six total takeaways on the season through eight games.

WR Brandin Cooks and DE DeMarcus Lawrence

Veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks suffered an injury during the Cowboys' Week 4 win over the New York Giants when a knee procedure left him with an infection and the need for immediate cleanup surgery. He was placed on Injured Reserve and has now missed the required four games.

Four-time Pro Bowler, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence was injured in that same Game against the Giants. Lawrence suffered a Lisfranc injury to his right foot and was also placed on IR, now having missed the required four Games as well.

McCarthy said that both Cooks and Lawrence will remain on IR and that the Cowboys do not plan to open their 21-day practice window on Wednesday, making it unlikely that they’ll play on Sunday.

While the news that Parsons could be back is encouraging, it‘s discouraging that the Cowboys will potentially have to face their 6-2 divisional rivals without Prescott, Bland, Lawrence, and Cooks.
