Sunday Night Football in Week 9 of the NFL campaign is a matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings. Seemingly stuck in mediocrity at 4-4, Indianapolis is turning to Joe Flacco as QB1 in an effort to kickstart its season. Minnesota is 5-2 but hoping to bounce back from 2 losses in succession.

Here are my best TD scorer bets for SNF, and also be sure to check out our full NFL predictions.

Josh Downs, WR, IND (+270 at DraftKings)

This is one of my favorite plays of the entire week – not just for Sunday Night Football. Downs’ second year in the NFL has been stellar, who has recorded at least 69 receiving yards in 4 of 6 games so far and just delivered a 109-yard performance at the Houston Texans’ expense. He has found the endzone 3 times, all in his last 5 outings. It should also be noted that the former North Carolina standout has been targeted at least 9 times in 4 of his last 5 games. With Flacco in at quarterback and Anthony Richardson benched, Downs should become even more productive. After all, Flacco may not be as flashy but is a much more reliable, consistent passer of the football. Meanwhile, the Vikings are #30 in the league in passing defense and have given up 14 passing TDs.

Aaron Jones, RB, MIN (-125 at DraftKings)

Jones has scored a modest 3 touchdowns so far this season, but there is plenty of reason for optimism heading into Sunday night. He has found the endzone twice in the last 5 Games, once on the ground and once through the air. Now he faces an Indianapolis defense that is much worse against the run than it is against the pass. The Colts’ run defense is ranked #30 in the NFL. It surrendered a rushing touchdown to Joe Mixon of the Texans last weekend and has given up 5 TDs on the ground in its past 5 outings. I expect Jones to take advantage.
