The Toronto Blue Jays and the Cleveland Guardians meet Wednesday in MLB action from Progressive Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Cleveland Guardians vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Toronto Blue Jays will send out Jose Berrios for the start here and Berrios is 6-5 with a 3.13 ERA and 65 strikeouts this season. In his last 5 starts against Cleveland, Berrios is 1-2 with a 7.09 ERA and 14 strikeouts. Ben Lively will start for the Guardians and is 6-3 with a 3.02 ERA and 52 strikeouts this season. This will be Lively’s second career start against Toronto.

Toronto Blue Jays Recap

The Toronto Blue Jays will try to rebound after starting the series on the wrong foot after their 7-1 loss in Friday’s series opener, failing to turn things around after being swept by the Boston Red Sox to start the week.

Blue Jays Struggling To Find Consistency

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leads the Blue Jays with 81 hits including 12 doubles, 8 home runs and 31 RBIs along with a .281 batting average and a .367 OBP. Daulton Varsho’s chipped in a team-high 11 home runs and 35 RBIs in addition to 14 doubles. Davis Schneider has a team-high 15 doubles while George Springer has a team-high 8 stolen bases. Varsho also has a team-high 67 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Toronto Blue Jays will win

  • The Blue Jays have won each of their last six day games against American League opponents.
  • The Guardians have lost each of their last four Saturday games as favorites against AL East opponents.
  • The Blue Jays have covered the run line in five of their last six road games following a road loss.
  • The Guardians have failed to cover the run line in six of their last eight day games following a win.

Cleveland Guardians Recap

The Cleveland Guardians will try to keep the ball rolling after their series-opening win over Toronto in a beatdown on Friday. The win helped Cleveland keep the momentum up after a series win against the Seattle Mariners to start the week.

Guardians Rolling Offensively

Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 76 hits as well as 18 home runs and 65 RBIs while Josh Naylor also has a team-high 19 home runs and 57 RBIs of his own. Ramirez has a team-high 14 doubles while Tyler Freeman has 12 doubles and Andres Gimenez has 37 RBIs with 12 stolen bases while the aforementioned Ramirez has a team-high 14 stolen bases on the year.

Why the Cleveland Guardians will win

  • The Guardians have won each of their last six home games against AL East opponents that held a losing record.
  • The Blue Jays have lost each of their last seven games as underdogs.
  • The Guardians have covered the run line in each of their last five games as favorites after playing the previous day.
  • The Blue Jays have failed to cover the run line in each of their last five games against the Guardians following a road loss.

Cleveland Guardians vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’m on the over here. We just saw this matchup last week and it finished as a 7-6 Blue Jays win and I think more runs could be on the horizon here. Berrios has been less effective on the road this season and the Guardians are really hitting well at the plate right now. On the other side, Lively is a fringe starter in this Guardians rotation, and I think Toronto breaks out the bats against him here. All in all, I think this ends up being a high-scoring Game as well so give me the over.
