The Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians meet Tuesday in MLB action from Progressive Field. Here’s a Cleveland Guardians vs Detroit Tigers prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.
Detroit Tigers Betting Preview
The Tigers took on the New York Yankees over the weekend in their last series. Detroit didn’t have any luck in that set, falling in three straight Games 2-1, 5-3 and 5-2 for a sweep. On Monday versus the Guardians, the Tigers couldn’t score after the first inning in a tough loss 2-1. Riley Greene provided the lone RBI with a solo home run.
In the starting role for Game two on Tuesday the Tigers are sending out Kenta Maeda. This year in six starts Maeda is 1-1 with a 5.02 ERA and 22 Ks in 28.2 innings. Maeda is 66-50 with a 3.95 ERA in 196 career Games (161 starts).
Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview
Over on the Guardians’ side, they played the Los Angeles Angels in their last set. Cleveland lost the Friday Game 6-0, but came back to win 7-1 and 4-1 in the next pair to take the series victory. On Monday the Guardians got a solo homer from Jose Ramirez and an RBI from Will Brennan in the tight win. Starter Triston McKenzie put up 5.0 innings with one earned on three hits and three walks.
It’ll be Logan Allen in the starter role for the Guardians on Tuesday. This year so far over his seven starts Allen is 3-2 with a 5.11 ERA and 31 Ks in 37.0 innings. Allen is 10-10 with a 4.10 ERA in 31 career starts.

Cleveland Guardians vs Detroit Tigers Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Tigers. Maeda has been good over his last two starts, posting a combined 11.0 innings with one earned, no walks and seven hits in that time. Maeda did post just 2.2 innings and five earned on April 18 versus the Rangers, though. As for Allen, he’s given up nine earned over his last three starts in 15.2 total innings, going 1-2 in that time.
On Monday in the opener, the Tigers couldn’t get much going on six team hits. The good news is that six different players had a hit, and nine different players got on base; Detroit just couldn’t cash in on any of it. Maeda should be able to set things up well on Tuesday, but the offense needs more of a push this time.
