The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cincinnati Bengals meet Saturday in NFL preseason action from Paul Brown Stadium. Here’s a Cincinnati Bengals vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Bengals vs Buccaneers pick.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Preview

Last season was an interesting one for Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers finished at 9-8 overall despite a 1-6 run in the middle of the year. Tampa would rally to win the tiebreaker versus the rival New Orleans Saints and clinch first place in the NFC South. After a Wild Card win over the Eagles, the Bucs fell to the Detroit Lions 31-23 in the Divisional Playoffs.

Head coach Todd Bowles enters his third season at the helm of the Buccaneers in 2024. He’ll preside over a team that’s the three-time defending division champion. Tampa Bay bolstered their O-line in the draft with first-round center Graham Barton (Duke), then went defense with OLB Chris Braswell (Alabama) and S Tykee Smith (Georgia) with the next two picks.

Cincinnati Bengals Betting Preview

Over on the Bengals’ side, they finished with the exact same overall record as the Buccaneers last year (9-8) but had a very different outcome in the standings. Cincinnati landed in the basement of the AFC North following a Week 17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Interestingly enough, every team in the division finished north of .500 on the year.

One key factor missing from Cincinnati’s campaign late last year was QB Joe Burrow. He was lost for the season in Week 11 due to a wrist injury. The Bengals went defense first in the draft in order to give Burrow a little help on the scoreboard this year. DE Myles Murphy (Clemson), CB DJ Turner (Michigan) and S Jordan Battle (Alabama) were the first three picks.

Cincinnati Bengals vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction

I’ll probably lean toward the Bengals here. Cincinnati has some high expectations heading into the 2024 campaign, but the road is clear for a great run. As of now, the Bengals are favored in at least 14 of their 17 regular-season Games—the easiest schedule of the division. The only major question mark remaining is a beat-up Burrow, who has dealt with calf issues already this year. Still, if Burrow can come back strong and keep that completion percentage up, Cincinnati will be in Business. It’ll be interesting to check out a bit of the defensive depth in the exhibition opener. I like that unit to start out well in the preseason and help guide the team to a win here.
