Chris Sutton Calls Out Celtic’s Dortmund Critics After Hoops Secure Famous European Win
Former Celtic striker turned pundit Chris Sutton has called out the Hoops’ critics from their loss to Borussia Dortmund last month after they came up with a monumental victory over RB Leipzig yesterday evening.
The Hoops went to Germany on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League and were hammered at Signal Iduna Park. Last night, though, Brendan Rodgers’ men put in a colossal performance against Leipzig, teaching them a Footballing lesson in a dominant 3-1 win.
The difference in Celtic’s performances against both the German sides couldn’t be more stark.
As a result of yesterday evening, the Bhoys silenced a fair few of their critics.
Indeed, after Dortmund, several pundits weren’t afraid to put the boot into Celtic and Scottish Football as a whole.
Last night, though, they were left red-faced. Indeed, touching on this, Sutton took to X early this morning.
He said: “We have not heard from those people putting the boot into Celtic and Scottish Football after Dortmund.”
A statement win, last night was one the Parkhead faithful will remember for many years to come.
Celtic fans have long awaited a statement scalp in Europe, and last night, against the second-best team in Germany, they got exactly that.
Nicolas Kuhn and Reo Hatate were the heroes in an elite performance from Rodgers’ side on the biggest stage of all. To a man, the Bhoys were terrific.
Qualification for the last-16 play-offs is well within the Celts’ sights.
