The Colorado Rockies and the Chicago White Sox meet Saturday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. Here’s a Chicago White Sox vs Colorado Rockies prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Rockies played a pair of Games versus the Houston Astros this week. Colorado lost both of those matchups, falling 5-2 and 7-1. In the Friday opener versus the White Sox, the Rockies ended up losing 5-3.

In the starter role for the Rockies on Saturday it’ll be Cal Quantrill. So far this year Quantrill is 6-5 with a 3.50 ERA in 16 starts. He has a 41-28 career record with a 3.79 ERA in 148 Games (110 starts).

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

Over on the White Sox’ side, they played a one-off Game versus the Atlanta Braves on Thursday. Chicago powered out a 1-0 win in a defensive battle there, halting their losing streak. On Friday the Sox scored four of their five runs in the sixth inning. Drew Thorpe lasted 6.0 innings in the start with two earned runs.

It’ll be Jonathan Cannon in the starter slot for the Sox in the Saturday matchup. Cannon is 1-2 with a 4.59 ERA in the first seven Games (six starts) of his career. He’s got 29 Ks in 33.1 innings total.

White Sox vs Rockies Pick Injury Notes

White Sox SP Mike Clevinger (elbow) had his next rehab start pushed back to next week due to neck stiffness.

Rockies SP German Marquez (elbow) made a rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. RF Charlie Blackmon (hamstring) is likely to be activated from the Injured List Saturday.

Chicago White Sox vs Colorado Rockies Prediction

I might take a stab on the Sox here. Probably staying away, though. Both starters could use a good showing. Cannon is coming off five earned in one inning during a loss to Detroit on June 23. Prior to that however, Cannon was pitching well with one earned in 15.2 frames. As for Quantrill, he’s been okay but not great with six earned over his last 11.0 innings.

On Friday the Sox got a great effort on the mound from the four different arms. The pen came in with 3.0 frames and one earned. Chicago will have a great shot Saturday if they can keep that going.
