The St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs meet Sunday in MLB action from Wrigley Field. Here’s a Chicago Cubs vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction. This will be the final installment in a four-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.
St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview
The Cardinals last played the Texas Rangers in their early-week series. St. Louis lost Monday’s Game but came back for victories in the other pair. Following losses 5-4 and 6-3 to the Cubs, on Saturday the Cardinals eked out a 5-4 victory on nine hits.
In the starter slot for the Sunday finale the Cardinals will send out Miles Mikolas. This year Mikolas is 8-8 with a 4.99 ERA in 22 starts. Mikolas is 62-61 with a 4.06 ERA in 200 career Games (172 starts).
Chicago Cubs Betting Preview
Over on the Cubs’ side, they took on the Cincinnati Reds in their last set. Chicago lost the first two installments of that set, then staved off the sweep with a 13-4 win on Wednesday. On Saturday the Cubs gave up three runs in the eighth inning and blew a 4-1 lead. Starter Jameson Taillon lasted 6.0 innings with one earned run.
It’ll be Justin Steele in the starter role for Chicago during the finale. This year so far Steele is 2-5 with a 3.38 ERA in 17 starts. In 91 career Games (80 starts) Steele is 26-21 with a 3.32 ERA in 91 Games (80 starts).

Chicago Cubs vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
I’ll stick with the Cubs. This one’s going to depend on how the starters do, though. Steele is 2-2 over his last seven starts, notching a 3.65 ERA in that time with 18 earned runs in 44.1 innings. As for Mikolas, he’s given up 11 earned runs over his last three starts in 17.1 innings. Six of those earned runs came in one game, the last time he saw the Cubs.
On Saturday the Cubs were doing great until the eighth inning but got a rough bullpen performance. I like Chicago to bounce back and take the series win Sunday, but it should be another close one.
