The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs meet Wednesday in MLB action from Wrigley Field. Here’s a Chicago Cubs vs Pittsburgh Pirates prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Cubs vs Pirates pick.

In their last set, the Pirates took on the Cleveland Guardians. Pittsburgh lost two of those three Games, then beat the Cubs 5-3 on Monday. In Game two the Pirates cruised to a 5-0 win. Paul Skenes put up 5.0 clean frames, four hits, four walks, and six Ks.

As a starter for Wednesday Pittsburgh will send out Domingo German. This year German has a 6.11 ERA without a decision in six Games (one start). German is 31-28 with a 4.47 career ERA in 118 Games (90 starts).

Chicago Cubs vs Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction

I’m staying with the Cubs. Imanaga has been pretty solid as usual lately. In his last three starts combined Imanaga is 2-1 with six earned in 18.0 innings on 12 hits and four walks. He should be good for a quality outing here.

On Tuesday the Cubs couldn’t solve Skenes in the early going and the pen faltered late anyway. It was a pretty rough overall outing. That said, with Imanaga on the mound Wednesday Chicago’s hopes should be high. I like the Cubs to close with a victory and stop the sweep.
