Chamber on January commerce figures
Paul Butterworth, CEO at Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, mentioned:
“It’s promising to see that regardless of current disruption to delivery within the Purple Sea, items and companies imports had been largely unaffected in January with the worth of imports growing. Exporting, alternatively, stays extra changeable month by month. Items exports to the EU elevated in January whereas exports to non-EU nations decreased.
“Virtually two thirds of companies in Wales export to worldwide markets, in line with our Quarterly Financial Survey for This autumn of 2023, and will probably be to see what iNFLuence new commerce agreements exterior of the EU and membership of the CPTPP, as soon as in impact, may have on worldwide commerce and exporting alternatives specifically.”
