Celtic have once again knocked back an offer for midfielder Matt O’Riley, this time dismissing a third bid from Serie A club Atalanta.

Despite previous unsuccessful attempts, Atalanta continues to pursue the midfielder, marking their latest proposal at €17 million (£14.4 million), as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Scottish Premiership champions are holding out for a record-breaking fee, insisting on receiving more than £25 million for O’Riley. Celtic’s firm stance has led them to quickly reject Atalanta’s offer, which falls significantly short of their valuation.

As the transfer saga unfolds, Celtic remains resolute, prepared to turn down further bids that do not meet their asking price.

The possibility of Atalanta making a fourth attempt remains uncertain, but there is plenty of other interest in the player. Southampton have made their move for the player, but like Atalanta, they saw their approach turned down.

Atletico Madrid could return to the table after they made an approach and formal offer in January, but there hasn’t been much talk of that this summer.
