Brendan Rodgers revealed injury timelines for Celtic’s injury-plagued defensive trio.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor missed out this afternoon against Ross County, with Taylor substituted at half-time against Borussia Dortmund midweek through injury, and Carter-Vickers’ last match came against Slovan Bratislava on September 18th.

Rodgers said: (Daily Record),“Hopefully they’ll be back. Ali won’t go with the international team, so that gives us a chance to recover him. Because he’s been working very well.

“Cam will be joining training later on in this week and then have a good week leading into Aberdeen.

“So that’s good. Greg will just have to wait and see. But Greg, we hope he’ll be back. If he’s not for Aberdeen, then not long after that.”

Alistair Johnston will clearly be monitored closely, with Carter-Vickers likely to be in contention against Aberdeen in just under a fortnight.

Johnston not going away with Canada on international duty is likely due to Rodgers having spoken to the Canadian national team manager Jesse Marsch about letting Johnston recover.

This is something he did last season with Carter-Vickers and the USA.

Greg Taylor is certainly the least likely to play a part against the Dons; however, there appears to be an outside chance he may be in the squad for the Game.

Celtic will be desperate to get Carter-Vickers back, as he simply transforms this Hoops side.

The American was a big miss against Dortmund midweek; however, the issue Rodgers faces is managing his minutes.
