Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for Celtic winger Nicolas Kühn, who scored a late winner to seal a crucial victory against Ross County in Dingwall.

Kühn has turned around his Celtic career since joining in January after a stop-start first six months due to dental issues upon signing, which meant he wasn’t able to smoothly fit into the team.

However, he has truly settled in and looks to be an early contender for Celtic Player of the Year.

Rodgers said: (BBC Sport),”That grit and determination, as well as the talent they have, shone through in the end.

“Space opened up a few times, it was a great pass by Ally [Johnston] and Nic [Kuhn] does well. Our intention is often to square it for players in the middle, but he stayed on it. He’s been absolutely brilliant for us.

“That’s the job. He had to create and score more goals and he’s starting to do that.”

Kühn clearly went off script, holding onto the ball, and it’s interesting to hear that players are instructed to square the ball into the box under Rodgers.

However, in this instance, the German can be excused for his selfishness on the ball, as it paid off in style with a beautiful dribble and a superb finish.

Rodgers couldn’t speak any more highly of Kühn, who is certainly becoming a player that will start to get the credit he deserves outside of Celtic.

He has shown unbelievable mental fortitude to fight back from being out of the starting 11 week in and week out to becoming arguably the first name on the team sheet at the moment.
