Brendan Rodgers Hails “Real Weapon” Adam Idah
Adam Idah came off the bench to continue his scoring spree on Saturday for Celtic against St. Mirren.
At Ibrox last weekend, the Irishman ruffled a few feathers when he was introduced, even putting the Hoops 3-2 ahead.
Yesterday, he once more got his team’s third, nodding home from close range over the head of Zach Hemming late on.
Idah now has seven goals and two assists in ten league appearances for the Hoops. CeltsAreHere revealed last night that it would take a fee north of £6m to acquire his permanent services and although some may debate whether that would be worth it, his impact in Glasgow cannot be refuted.
Indeed, manager Brendan Rodgers hailed the 23-year-old after his team’s dominant 3-0 win on Saturday. He said: [The Celtic Way] “Big Adam [Idah] is a real weapon for us whether he starts or comes off the bench.
“His physicality is great for us except when he gets tripped up by a plastic bag! That was the only downside for him. He gets another goal and is contributing.”
Two Celtic strikers got on the scoresheet yesterday for the first time since a 6-0 thrashing of Aberdeen back in November last year.
Having two options at the top end of the park that are completely different yet can equally contribute will encourage the gaffer.
In a tight title run-in, you need key players hitting form and at the minute, that is what the league leaders have.
