The 10 best players of Premier League Gameweek 34 - ranked

Gameweek 34 may have lost six teams to the FA Cup calendar, but there was still more than enough fun on show across the Premier League.

Arsenal and Liverpool both used their opportunities to keep the pressure up on Manchester City at the top of the standings, while towards the bottom, this was a decisive week for the likes of Everton, Brentford and even Burnley's quests for survival.

Here are 90min's top ten performers from all the excitement.

10. Martin Odegaard (Arsenal)

It was far from a vintage performance from Arsenal as they saw off Wolves, but Martin Odegaard did his best to lead by example.

With the fatigue in his legs clear to see, Odegaard kept running until the final seconds and deservedly netted the goal that secured Arsenal's 2-0 victory in the dying embers.

9. Cody Gakpo (Liverpool)

It hasn't always been easy for Cody Gakpo at Liverpool, but the Dutchman built up some much-needed confidence with a smart showing against Fulham.

A relentless force down the left, Gakpo fired in four shots and created two chances, even grabbing the assist for Diogo Jota's late strike.

8. Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace)

With relentless running and crucial composure in front of goal, Jean-Philippe Mateta played a decisive role in Crystal Palace's dismantling of West Ham United.

The striker did not take his foot off the gas pedal and walked away with two well-taken goals to take his tally for the season to nine.

7. Trent Alexander Arnold (Liverpool)

After impressing against Atalanta, Trent Alexander-Arnold kept his hot run of form going with an electric showing in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Fulham.

He scored his side's first goal - the 100th goal involvement of Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool career - and was relentless with his desire to get the ball forwards.

6. Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)

Luton defenders will still be having nightmares about Bryan Mbeumo, who played a major role in Brentford's surprise 5-1 victory.

Mbeumo walked away with two assists to his name and looks back to his best after his lengthy injury lay-off.

5. Leon Bailey (Aston Villa)

Leon Bailey reached ten goals for the season with his strike against Bournemouth, having also added his ninth assist of the campaign earlier on in the Game.

Unai Emery has helped rejuvenate the Jamaica international, who is now one of Aston Villa's most important players without a doubt.

4. Ebere Eze (Crystal Palace)

There's a reason Ebere Eze keeps getting linked with a move to some of the Premier League's top teams - he's really, really good.

After scoring the winner against Liverpool last time out, Eze kept his electric form alive with one goal and one assist as Palace breezed through West Ham.

3. Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)

Not to be outdone by his running mate, Michael Olise added a goal and an assist of his own to Palace's rampage at the weekend.

The Frenchman opened the scoring with a surprisingly emphatic header, with the queue of suitors for his services growing with each passing performance.

2. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

The Unai Emery version of Ollie Watkins is quickly approaching streets-will-never-forget territory.

He may have 19 Premier League goals to his name, but Waktins' latest masterclass was all about creativity. He led the line to absolute perfection and handed the spotlight to those around him with two more assists - his 11th and 12th of the year.

At the top of the mountain this week is Yoane Wissa, whose two-goal haul against Luton was just ruthless.

He bagged two of Brentford's five to reach double-figures for the season, while also creating three chances and putting in the hard yards on the defensive side of the ball as well.
