The Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox meet Wednesday in MLB action from Fenway Park. Here’s a Boston Red Sox vs Atlanta Braves prediction. This will be the final installment in a two-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

The Braves played the Oakland Athletics in their last series. Atlanta won 4-2 Friday then took a tough loss 11-9 in Game two. In the Sunday rubber match the Braves powered out a 3-1 win to take the series, though. On Tuesday versus Boston, the Braves posted an 8-3 road win. Max Fried struck out 13 over 7.0 innings in the start with two earned on four hits and a walk.

In the starting pitcher role for the Braves on Wednesday it’ll be Spencer SchwelleNBAch. So far SchwelleNBAch only has one start to his credit (the first start of his career), a loss with 5.0 innings and five Ks.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Over on the Red Sox’ side, they played the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. Boston managed wins 7-3 Friday and 6-3 Saturday but otherwise lost 5-0 and 8-4 to split the set. In their Tuesday matchup the Sox were out-hit 8-5 but did have a 3-2 lead at one point. Kutter Crawford gave up four over 6.0 innings in the starting role.

It’ll be Nick Pivetta in the starter slot for the Sox on Wednesday. So far this year Pivetta is 2-4 with a 4.08 ERA and 42 Ks in 35.1 innings over seven starts. Pivetta is 52-63 with a 4.83 ERA in 203 Games (159 starts).

Red Sox LF Masataka Yoshida (thumb) could begin a rehab assignment this week. SS Romy Gonzalez (hamstring) will be ready to return from the IL when he’s first eligible if all goes well.

Boston Red Sox vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

I’ll stick with the Red Sox. Pivetta needs a good outing, though. Over his last two starts Pivetta is 0-2 with seven earned runs on 10 hits and five walks in 8.2 innings. As for Schwellenbach, he gave up three earned in 5.0 innings versus the Nationals in his first start.

On Tuesday the Red Sox had a pretty solid start offensively but couldn’t do anything on the scoreboard after the fourth inning. Bobby Dalbec had a couple of RBI and Dominic Smith hit a solo homer in the losing effort. I like the Sox to bounce back in Game two to even things out.
