The 2024 NFL Draft is exactly 1 week away, which means it’s time to get serious about projecting the future destinations of the best players in college football.

Bo Nix has been one of those players for many years. He spent 3 seasons starting at quarterback for Auburn before being the man under center for 2 years at Oregon. Nix was already a good player as a Tiger, but he took his talents to new levels with the Ducks. He was especially impactful as a senior, passing for 4,508 yards with 45 touchdowns and a mere 3 interceptions this past season. The Pinson, Alabama native also rushed for 234 yards and 6 touchdowns — giving him 38 TDs on the ground for the entirety of his college career.

At 24 years old, it’s finally time for Nix to go pro. Let’s take a look at his NFL Draft prospects.

Bo Nix NFL Draft best bets

Bo Nix to be drafted in the first round (+140)

It seems like everyone loves quarterbacks in this year’s NFL Draft. That’s nothing new, of course, as many drafts in the past have been dominated by QBs. But these 2024 festivities, specifically, seem to be heavy on the most important position in all of Sports. After all, quarterbacks are expected to go #1, #2 and #3 overall. Even a signal-called at #4 is not out of the question. With so many QBs off the board early, that’s going to create a sense of desperation for some needy franchises that are farther back in the pecking order. If a team wants to take a shot on a quarterback later in round 1, Nix could be the man. There is a remote chance he could be off the board as high as #10, which gives him good value at +140 to go anywhere in the top 32.

Bo Nix to be drafted ahead of Michael Penix Jr. (+140)

As mentioned above, Nix’s senior stats were otherworldly. That has helped him climb the draft charts to the extent that a first-round selection becomes a real possibility. Another question is if it’s enough to leapfrog Michael Penix Jr. Nix finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting–a good bit behind Penix and a country mile south of Jayden Daniels. It’s likely that Daniels will go second behind Caleb Williams, but there’s a chance Nix won’t be behind Penix when it comes to NFL Draft position. It is true that the upside with Penix is higher, but the red flags with the lefty out of Washington are more alarming (namely 2 ACL surgeries). When you are dealing with the late first round or early second round, you are not always thinking about upside; you are often thinking about a safer, solid play. That would be the case with Nix, so he also has nice value at +140 to be drafted ahead of MPJ.
