Best NBA Player Props for Today – NBA Prop Bets

It’s a light Sunday in hoops, with just five Games in the NBA. But that doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of star players gracing the hardwood, and that means plenty of NBA player props worth considering.

NBA player props for October 27

Prop bet #1: Tyrese Maxey Under 3.5 made threes

It has been a dismal start for the Philadelphia 76ers, who’ve dropped their first two games and won’t have Joel Embiid or Paul George available for a third as Philly visits the Indiana Pacers.

Not surprisingly, the burden has been a little heavy for budding star Tyrese Maxey, who is shooting 29.6% from the field, including a brutal 4-for-21 mark from 3-point range (19%).

The books are counting for a regression back to the mean for Maxey, a career 39.3% shooter from distance, setting his make line from beyond the arc at 3.5. But the Pacers are not exactly a get-right opponent for him to start splashing, as they are 10th in 3-point defense, holding teams to 35% shooting.

Without any other star magnets pulling defenders away from him, Maxey is in tough to produce.

Prop bet #2: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Under 29.5 points

The Oklahoma City Thunder are a wrecking ball right now, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is looking every bit the MVP candidate that he should be.

Last time out, he went for 23 points and eight rebounds in a win over the Bulls to get to 2-0 on the year. Next, they draw the 2-0 Atlanta Hawks, and SGA’s scoring line is 29.5 points.

It’s based on the OKC star’s recent dominance against these Hawks, scoring 30+ points in four straight meetings. However, the Thunder are a different beast this season as a title favorite. Shai doesn’t need to go supernova on a nightly basis, and OKC’s roster is so deep he definitely doesn’t need to against the Hawks.

The Thunder have had multiple 20-point scorers in both games, and it's likely it'll be a third on Sunday, saving a Gilgeous-Alexander marquee scoring performance for when it’s truly needed.

Prop bet #3: Stephen Curry Over 24.5 points

While his team is off to a 2-0 start, Golden State Warriors all-world guard Stephen Curry appears to be figuring out his new teammates and life without Klay Thompson. So far, Curry is averaging just 18.5 points per game on 36.7% shooting from the field, including a pedestrian 35% from beyond the arc.

I think the NBA player props linemakers went into overreaction mode though, setting his line at 24.5 points for the Dubs’ next tilt against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Curry has scorched L.A. for at least 33 points in three straight games, while topping this line in five of the last seven head-to-head matchups. He has also breezed past this line in each of the Warriors’ last two home openers.

The Warriors also absolutely demolished Portland and Utah, outscoring them by acombined 77 points. Curry played just 27 minutes last time out against the Jazz, while logging 25 against the Blazers.

Against a more formidable opponent, expect to see more of the Steph you’re used to on Sunday.
