Hunter Greene (CIN) Under 2.5 earned runs allowed (-115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

How about the New York Mets, huh? That’s who Hunter Greene has the pleasure of pitching against on Friday night. That’s the same offense that had to Travel to Cincinnati overnight while playing a double-header against the Tigers on Thursday after scoring just 5 runs combined. The same New York Mets are hitting below .160 against right-handed pitching to start the year. It’s a small sample size, but this team looks lost at the plate to start the year and a 1-5 record reflects that.

Greene wasn’t as sharp as he’d like in his first start of the season. He lasted just 4.2 innings due to walking 4 batters and a pitch count of 100. He struck out 7 Nationals hitters and ended up surrendering just 2 earned runs.

While the Mets were busy with the Tigers yesterday, the Reds got a much needed day off. If Greene gets in any jam, the bullpen is rested and ready to go. Let’s hope he gets out of those jams and cashes the under of 2.5 earned runs tonight at home.

Phillies -0.5 first 5 innings (-125)

Line available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.

We’re getting a solid price of -125 for the Phillies to be leading against the Washington Nationals after five innings tonight. The same prop is already down to -140 on FanDuel. The Phillies will have Aaron Nola on the bump, while the Nationals will bring out Patrick Corbin. Need I say more?

Corbin has had his fair share of battles with this Phillies lineup. The top of the order in Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper have good numbers against the southpaw, but it’s the middle of the order where I expect Corbin to struggle. J.T. Realmuto, Alec Bohm, and Bryson Stott are hitting over .340 in their careers against Corbin with at least 10 at-bats.

Nola would like to forget his first start of the year – as would most after facing off against the Atlanta Braves. He allowed 7 runs on 12 hits and failed to make it out of the 4th inning. Luckily for him, the Nationals aren’t the Braves. Leadoff batter C.J. Abrams and projected 4-hole hitter Joey Meneses have solid numbers lifetime against Nola, but I’ll side with Nola over Corbin any day of the week at this price
