Bernardo’s Celtic Contract
Portuguese midfielder Paulo Bernardo is close to finalising his move to Celtic, with details of his salary and contract length emerging.
According to A Bola, the 22-year-old will earn around £4 million over the course of his contract, which runs until June 2028.
This deal follows his crucial role in Brendan Rodgers’ squad, notably assisting Adam Idah in the last-minute goal that secured the Scottish Cup.
Last Friday, Bernardo was conspicuously absent from Benfica’s squad, and by Monday, reports confirmed that he was no longer training at their base.
This absence fueled speculation about his imminent transfer to Celtic which is now set to go through. The Bhoys are set to pay £3.5 million for the midfielder, with potential add-ons bringing the total cost to approximately £4.2 million.
